This ministry includes singing in our choir, playing musical instruments, being a part of our Bell Choir, producing or contributing to an art event or other productions to benefit Pilgrim’s missions.

Recognizing that God’s Word is experienced by diverse people in many different ways, hymnody, anthems, and music are drawn from the richness of the World Church. South African freedom songs, Puerto Rican folk hymns, 16th-century German chorales, ancient psalm tones, and newly commissioned hymns offer boundless ways to trumpet the splendor of God’s realm. Historic texts by Martin Luther and Charles Wesley stand in perfect harmony with contemporary texts by Ruth Duck and Thomas Troeger, connecting us to the worship experience of faithful ones who have gone before us, and tune our hearts to sing God’s praise in this new day.

The musical ensembles of Pilgrim Church capture a wide range of musical expression:

• Our Chancel Choir delves into the rich history and current offerings of sacred choral music.
• Our Bell Choir fills the sanctuary with the joyful pealing of handbells.
• The Jazz Ensemble brings us energetic, vocal and instrumental settings of gospel tunes, African American spirituals, and other contemporary musical forms.

Add to this our magnificently restored 19th-century Farrand & Votey pipe organ with over 2,000 pipes that sing out to the heavens and encourage your joyful sounds in worship.
